Who is that? Good question. Bassey is a journalist who directs machine learning-based editorial projects. He's covered politics in Wisconsin, he lives in Brooklyn, he writes longform fiction projects, composes arthouse hip-hop, and he's always reading about theoretical physics for some reason.

Bassey created Machines on Paper to explore the entanglement between algorithmic recommendation science and ethical information delivery with ML scientists and journalists. He has worked for The New York Times, The Badger Herald, Canopy, and CNN. He's also something of a scaled online community building expert, serving on the board for the Center for Media Engagement at UT-Austin. As promised, here's a picture of me with a popsicle.
